The three discount regimes on KEE are:
Easy Pass Discount: This is applied on Easy Pass Cards at a discounted rate of 10% per trip.
Weekly Pass Discount: This is applied on the Weekly Pass Cards and comprises 14 trips at a discounted rate of 50% per trip valid for any consecutive 7- day period.
Monthly Pass Discount: This is applied on the Monthly Pass Cards and comprises 60 trips at a discounted rate of 70% per trip valid for any consecutive 30- day period.

Who is exempt from paying the tolls?
The vehicles exempt from paying the tolls are the following as prescribed in the Roads Act;
NO OTHER categories of vehicles are exempt.

Can I pay with mobile money or bank card at the toll booth?
No. This will cause delays due to increased transaction time at the booth. However, Electronic Cards can be loaded with mobile money or bank cards at points of sale.
What is an Electronic Card and how is it used?
There are three types of Electronic Cards on KEE:
The funds or trips on the Electronic Card are valid for one year i.e if a User does not use the card for twelve consecutive months, they forfeit any funds or trips that were loaded on the card.
Funds or trips loaded on an Electronic Card are non-refundable.
Where can the Electronic Card be obtained?
Walk into any of the three toll plazas (Busega, Kajjansi, Mpala) or at designated points of sale. You will receive your first electronic card for free.

What top-up channels are available for the Electronic Card?
Is the Electronic Card transferrable from one car to another?
A Regular Card (Easy Pass card) can be used by multiple vehicles of different classes provided they have adequate credit for the toll.
A Frequent User card is tagged to a particular number plate and therefore is not transferable to another vehicle.
Can I top up trips on my Upesi Monthly and Weekly pass cards before my validity period ends?
Yes. You can load additional trips onto your Weekly or Monthly pass before the current validity period ends. For example, you can add 60 more trips to a Class 2 Monthly Pass even if it still has 5 days remaining; the pass is extended for another 30 days from that moment.
If I lose my Electronic Card, how do I recover another one?
Users will be required to go to the points of sale at any of the three toll stations with the required identification (National ID or Driving Permit) and pay a fee of UGX 20,000 and the corresponding minimum amount loadable to get a new card.
If my Electronic Card is damaged or stolen, do I lose the money on the card?
No, you do not lose your money or trips.
Once your identity is verified, your remaining balance or active trips will be transferred to your replacement card. Be sure to report the issue on our toll free line 0800270170 as soon as possible to prevent unauthorized use.
Is towing free of charge on the Expressway?
Yes. Emergency services, including towing, are provided free of charge on the expressway.
Where can Upesi Offices be located?
Upesi offices are located at the three toll plazas i.e Busega, Kajjansi and Mpala.
Do Toll gates ever close?
No. The expressway and its toll plazas operate 24/7, including holidays. Toll collection is continuous at all three plazas.
Is first Aid available on the Expressway in case of an accident?
Yes. First‑aid assistance and roadside emergency response services (including ambulances) are available free to users as part of the expressway support system.
